Bromley developed around the market place, now called Market Square, a market charter having been granted by King John in 1205. Today the town is the main shopping and leisure centre for London's biggest borough. There is a first class shopping centre, the town centre is traffic-free and the High Street has been transformed with decorative paving, trees and colourful planting. Local public transport is excellent and there are 6000 parking places in the town centre and there's plenty to see and do when you get there!
