Whether you prefer comedy or conservation, shopping or swimming, reading or rambling, Bromley has something for you: a first class producing theatre, the Churchill, which frequently hosts pre-London plays; a superb leisure centre. the Pavilion; one of the most prestigious libraries in London, and miles of footpaths through protected areas. For lovers of history and architecture there are two of the oldest colleges of almshouses in Britain, Bromley and Sheppard's Colleges; the Bishop's Palace built in 1775 and home to the Bishops of Rochester until 1845, and a large mural commemorating one of Bromley's most famous sons - H.G.Wells; also the new Bromley Zoo mural in Naval Walk adjacent to The Hill Car Park and High Street. The Odeon and the ABC caters for those who enjoy a good movie.

In addition, for a breath of fresh air, there are two charming parks, Church House Gardens and Queens Garden, right in the town centre. Bromley has an impressive programme of annual events, including the Arts and Entertainment Festival in May and the Bromley Pageant of Motoring in June, one of the largest classic car shows in the world.
